Seed Check-outs and Donations
In 2024, we had 3045 packets of seeds checked out.  Brianna Chase, our Seed Library Coordinator reports that we have received seed packet donations from one additional seed company (5 total) since our last report – our new total in donated seeds totals $1265.32.

Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS)
ODHS is in the Library. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm for drop-in assistance.

Helpful Hungry Bats – Hoodland Library 6 kids and 5 parents attended.  Presented by Rick Reynolds from Engaging Every Student.

Take & Make – 150 (120 Sandy and 30 Hoodland). Rainbow Pony Bead Bracelet.  Take & Make available beginning on the 15th day of the month. 

Vista Apartments – 16 kids attended for literacy and STEM activities.

Pioneer Mobile Home Park – 12 kids attended a Lunar New Year celebration.

LEGO Club – Sandy 10 kids and 6 adults

STEM Club – 22 kids and 20 Adults attended to listen to Rick Reynolds talk about Fantastic Freshwater Ecosystems.

Read to the Dog – 33 kids attended to read to Tanis

Reading Tutoring – 13 one hour sessions of reading tutoring  at Sandy (1 tutor and 1 student each).

Storytimes
Storytime videos were posted in our Facebook Group: Sandy and Hoodland Libraries – Storytime Parents Group.  Use numbers were recorded after 1 week. All Storytimes were presented by librarian Monica Smith – unless otherwise noted.

Teen Library Advisory Board (TLAB) – 2 teens attended

Take & Make – 87 (67 Sandy, 20 Hoodland) teens pick up supplies to make an Herbarium.  Teen Take & Make is available on the 1st of each month.

Teen Makerspace – up to 9 teens came to our two – five week Makerspace Camps.  So far they have made Laser Cut Heart Shapped Boxes and Custom Acrylic LED signs.

Plant Swap – 53 people attended

Author Talk – Gary Brumbelow discussed his book Someplace North, Someplace Wild

Craft Swap – 62 people attended

Puzzle Swap – 7 people attended at Hoodland

Ongoing
Mobile Stabilization and Outreach Unit – 12 clients and 10 service providers attended.  This unit is coordinated by Parole and Probation Officer, Amanda Denis from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office with the help of community partners: Love One, 4D, Central City Concern, Parrott Creek, Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), ODHS and Clackamas Behavioral Health.   

Take & Make – 100 (80 Sandy, 20 Hoodland) people pick up supplies to make Macrame Feather Keychains.  Adult Take and Makes are ready on the 15th of each month

Spanish Language Class – 8 people attended with one teacher

Creation Station – Creation Station is a twice monthly interactive program that welcomes adults with disabilities.  22 attended the 2nd Monday and 26 attended on the 4th Monday.

ESOL tutor – 6 one hour sessions (1 tutor and 1 student each)

Writing Group  – 16 people attended our writing group 

Fiber Arts Circle – 45 people attended in the Fireplace Room on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons, and 15 attended Fiber Arts at Hoodland!

American Red Cross Blood Drive – 29 people attended and 25 donated blood.

Mahjong – 15 people attended the beginner mahjong lesson with regular play afterwards.

Edible Gardening Group – 7 people attended

French Conversation group – 5 people attended this group at Hoodland Library

Computer Classes – 2 people attended Microsoft Word, 3 attended iPhone and iPad

Book-a-Librarian – 4 people attended to install critical updates on laptop and load apps on Samsung tablet, Upload photos from memory card onto laptop, Libby Kindle installation and tutorial, get help with a laptop.

Fiber Fusion: A Show by the Sandy Library Fiber Arts Group -Visit with the fiber artists at their Reception on March 31 at 5:30 pm in the Fireplace Room. This show will be on display now through May 18th.
