The Mobile Library had its soft opening this month!
Oregon Trail School District Elementary Schools – 370 kids came onto the vehicle, 56 Library cards issued

Pioneer Mobile Home Park – 27 people came on the vehicle, 6 cards issued
Dia del Nino – 1 person came on at Sandy Library
Ribbon Cutting ceremony – 33 people attended

Avamere at Sandy – 10 people came onto the vehicle, 5 cards issued & 1 card updated

Dia del Nino – 20 people came on the vehicle at this program organized by Mount Hood Unida in Welches.

We have 12 Mobile Library stops in May and are adding more every week! Go here to see the schedule or request a permanent stop in your neighborhood or for a special event.

Books with Booker – 4 kids and 3 adults. Read books with Booker at the Hoodland Library on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

STEM Club – 24 kids and 16 adults came to a presentation on Helpful, Hungry Bats by Rick Reynolds.

Reading Tutoring – 10 one hour sessions of reading tutoring at Sandy (1 tutor and 1 student each).

Take & Make – 120 kids (100 Sandy, 20 Hoodland) picked up supplies to make paper flowers. Take & Makes available starting on the 15th of the month.

How to Control Pests Without Harm – 13 people came to learn from OSU Extension Service Master Gardener™, Kris LaMar.

KDP Self Publishing for Beginners – 10 people attended to learn from Dawn Dunsmore, an independent author and publishing consultant.

Ongoing
Mobile Stabilization and Outreach Unit – 9 clients and 7 service providers attended. This unit is coordinated by Parole and Probation Officer, Amanda Denis from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office with the help of community partners: Love One, 4D, Central City Concern, Parrott Creek, Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), ODHS and Clackamas Behavioral Health.

American Red Cross Blood Drive – 36 people attended. 32 donors and 4 staff/volunteers attended.

Creation Station – Creation Station is a twice monthly interactive program that welcomes adults with disabilities. 23 attended the 2nd Monday and 20 attended on the 4th Monday.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) tutoring – 11 one hour sessions (1 tutor and 1 student each). English Language class – 10 students. Meet our new English language teacher Chris Allen!


Writing Critique Group – 20 people attended

Fiber Arts Circle – 39 people attended in the Fireplace Room on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons
